Viriginia Mable (Simmons) Shahan

Virginia Mable Shahan, age 79 , a resident of Belington, WV., passed away from this life on Thursday, March 9, 2023 in the Mon Health Medical Center at Morgantown with her family by her side. She was in declining health; however, her death was sudden and unexpected.
She was born into this life in Elkins, WV, on September 3, 1943, a daughter of the late Sanford "Sam" and Catherine (Collett) Simmons.
On Saturday, July 24, 1971, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Frank Shahan, who survives at their home in Belington.
Virginia leaves behind, a son; Frankie Shahan, and wife Annetta; a daughter; Wilma Burr, and finance Steve Foy; grandchildren; Malcom Bradley Moore Jr., and wife Amy Lin Moore, Brandon Shahan, and wife Chelsy Plauger, Amber Dean, and husband, Cody Dean, Destiny Burr, and finance Michael Jones, Joshua Dwayne Moore, Isaiah Nielsen, and Jake Foy; great grandchildren; Kodi Dean, Zaylie-Mae Dean, Jaycee Dean, Makayla Moore, Collin Moore, Edison Shahan, Lillie Shahan, Noah Shahan, Malachi Plauger, Denise Plauger, Chole Jones, Chase Jones, and Colton Jones; brothers; Lloyd Simmons, Jim Simmons, and John Simmons. She was part of a group of women called the Golden Girls, surviving Carolyn Kerns, Billie Tingler, and Beverly Keefer, several nieces and nephews.
Preceding her death are brothers; Paul Simmons, Thomas Simmons, and Clarence Simmons; sisters; Mary Shahan, Dorothy Etichison, Lillie Philippi, and Lucille Shaw.
Mrs. Shahan loved doing mechanical work, especially on automobiles, loved giving people HELL, her favorite spirit was Seagram's and Sprite. Virginia loved her dog, Chole. She is going to be missed by everyone who knew and loved her.
Honoring Virginia's wishes, her remains were donated to the WVU Human Gift Registry. A private celebration of her life will be held later.
