Obituary: Donald Lee Croston
Donald Lee Croston, age 76, a resident of Philippi, WV, passed peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, surrounded by his family, at his home, following an extended illness.
He was born into this life on September 25, 1945, in Philippi, WV., a son to the late Alva Croston and Rosie Rock (Mayle) Croston.
Donald is survived by his companion of thirty seven years; Rosemary Harris; children; Ronnie Fagons, Troyanna Mayle, Michael Harris, and wife Jamie, Nichol Harris, and her husband Jerry Poling, and Andrea Harris; grandchildren; Aaron Fagons, Selena Fagons, Joshua Mayle, Amanda Mayle, Donovan Mayle, Micah Harris, Jayman Harris, D'andre Harris, Bryell Harris, Damian Harris, Dominick Harris and Summer Harris; several great grandchildren; a sister; Linda Mayle, and husband Marvin Ezra Mayle; countless nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by, grandson, Marcus Alva Fagons; sisters; Helen Kennedy, Belva Morgan, Magnolia Mayle, and Halie Mae Mayle.
Mr. Croston worked most of his life driving Coal Trucks and he lastly worked at Barbour Produce. Donald loved to hunt, drive, and work on old cars, and trucks. He also loved to tell stories from past experiences to the younger generation. Donald was a family man, and he loved his father and mother with his whole heart and took care of his mother until she passed away. He would give the shirt off his back to help someone in need. Donald will be missed by all those that knew and loved him.
Family and friends will gather at the Kittle Family Funeral Home, 265 Beech Ave., Philippi, from 6 pm until 9 pm on Monday, February 28, 2022, and again on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, from 8 am until 12 pm. A funeral service will be held at 12 pm., from the funeral home chapel with Evangelist Ezik S. Norris officiating and interment will follow in the Welch Cemetery near, Moatsville. The Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi is honored to be assisting the Croston and Harris Families with the arrangements.
