Obituary: D. Richard “Ricky” Wilkie Sr.

Ricky Wilkie Sr., age 65, a resident of Philippi, passed from this life on Thursday, November 11, 2021 in the Davis Medical Center of Elkins, following a brief illness.

He was born on December 23, 1955 in Paterson, NJ, a son of the late William Wilkie and Rosa  (Tavecchio) Wilkie.

Ricky is survived by a son, D. Richard Wilkie Jr., a daughter Mary Kittle-Mayle and husband Aaron,   his former wife, Elizabeth (Blidgett) Wilkie, grandchildren, Aiden Kittle-Mayle, Madison Kittle-Mayle, Gracie Kittle-Mayle, one brother, Louis Wilkie, one sister, Gerorgette Marchitto, several nephews and nieces.

Also preceding him death was brothers, William and Ernie Wilkie, sisters Lois Wilkie whom was Louis’s twin, Kathleen Wilkie, Emily Wilkie and Rosemarie Brooks

Wilkie owned and operated a moving business with his brother for many years until he became disabled. Ricky was a Catholic by faith. He loved listening to the sixties and seventy’s music, a love for Elvis, Beech Boys, Beatles, and Patsy Cline. Ricky enjoyed working on small engines in his spare time. He loved riding his bicycle all over Philippi to the stores, Heart and Hand and restaurants. He had a special place in his heart for his wife, kids, and grandchildren. Wilkie will be missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, November 23, 2021 at 2 pm at the Mary’s Chapel Cemetery near Philippi. The Rev. Ruston Seaman will officiate and interment will follow.
