Obituary: Sherwood "Jim" Lantz
Sherwood Lantz, 76, passed away on August 7, 2021, in the Ruby Memorial Hospital Morgantown, WV. He had been in declining health for the past month.
He was born August 9, 1944 in Barbour County, a son of the late Willie Lantz and Hazel (Everson) Lantz.
On December 3, 1966 he was united in marriage to Diania (Bryan) Lantz who survives at home. They celebrated 54 years of marriage.
Jim is survived by son Perry (Tracey) Lantz , Philippi: two grand daughters, Brooke Lantz and Madison Lantz, Philippi: two brothers: Lee Lantz , Bonham,Tx, Jack Lantz, Keyser, three sisters; Ruby (Neil) Wilfong, Montrose, Sue Lantz, Philippi, Kay (Adrian) Burner, Philippi. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Many special friends.

Mr. Lantz was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Bender.

He attended the schools of Barbour County. Jim worked as an Auto Body Repairman for Town and Country Dodge in Belington for several years. He never met a stranger while visiting some of the local restaurants while drinking his coffee. Jim loved to garden, he would give his produce away. Jim loved to hunt and fish. He loved spending time with his family especially his grand daughters. He will be missed by many.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, August 12, 2021 at the Kittle Family Funeral Home 265 Beech Ave., Philippi, from 9 am, until 2 pm. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm, from the funeral home with the Dr. Danny Franke officiating and interment will follow in the Crossroads Cemetery near Tacy.
